Ryanair offer a service from Glasgow Prestwick to Treviso, changing at London Stanstead.
Easy Jet and BA fly from London Gatwick to Marco Polo. Both airlines provide regular services between London Gatwick and Edinburgh or Glasgow.
Getting around Venice - Bus and Train
The main bus station in Venice is the Piazzale Roma. The train station is the Santa Lucia. They are five minutes walk from each other and situated at the top of the Grande Canal.
The most economical way to travel from Marco Polo airport to Venice is to use the regular road bus service provided by ATVO or ACTV to the Piazzale Roma bus station. Tickets are available in the airport arrivals hall. A water bus, which calls at San Marco and the Arsenale, is also available.
From Treviso airport either use the ATVO road bus service to Venice or catch the No. 6 bus into Treviso itself where there are regular connections to Venice bus and train station.
From the bus or train station the quickest way to get around the city is by foot.
Water Bus or Gondola Ferry
Alternatively, ACTV Vaporetti water bus services provide a regular service along the Grande Canal and the outskirts of the city. Motoscafi water buses are smaller vessels that provide a service along the less busy routes.
A traghetti - or gondola ferry - is recommended for short trips across the Grand Canal.
Other water-based services are available including water taxis, convenient, quick and expensive, and gondolas.
One and three day tickets are available for water buses. For unlimited seven day travel, buy a Blue Travel Card. All are available at the airport, bus, train station and main tourist offices.
